Election time is also meant for making promises. If the ruling Indian National Congress wants to continue on the path of reforms and provide inclusive development, its main challenger, the Bharatiya Janata Party pushes the envelope on nationalism. Others such as the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India, the Aam Aadmi Party, and many regional parties hold out promises including revising the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal, good governance, and a host of issues that affect the States.
