The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy on Thursday, December 5, 2013, hosted a lively interactive session with Mr. Giles Thomson, Director, South Asia and India Coordinator, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London, UK. He was accompanied by Mr. Rudy Fernandez, Head (South India) Press and Public Affairs, British Deputy High Commission, Chennai.
The hour-long discussion, initiated by Mr. N Ram, Chairman, Kasturi & Sons Ltd., former Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu Group of Publications, and member of the Board of Management of The Hindu Centre, covered a wide range of political and governance issues in the context of the coming elections to the Lok Sabha in 2014.
Mr. A.S. Panneerselvan, Readers' Editor of The Hindu , and Mr. T. Ramakrishnan, Deputy Chief of Tamil Nadu Bureau, The Hindu , were among the particpants. Staff of The Hindu Centre, including Mr. V.S. Sambandan, Chief Administrative Officer, M.R. Venkatesh, Chief Political Coordinator, Vasundhara Sirnate, Chief Coordinator, Research, Mandira Moddie, Senior Coordinator, Programmes and Communication, Saptarshi Bhattacharya, Senior Coordinator, Administration and Programmes, and Ms. Ruchika Singh, Public Policy Scholar, also participated in the interaction.
