The Hindu Centre Ranked 32nd in 2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report

The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy is ranked 32nd in the 2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report prepared by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) for the region comprising China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy has been ranked 32 nd in the 2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report prepared by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP), the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania.  The ranking is for the region comprising China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

According to data provided in the Report, the total number of think tanks in this region is 2,574, of which 612 are in India. The goal, the Report says, is to increase the profile and performance of think tanks and raise public awareness on the key role they play in governments and civil societies around the world.

"The Go To Index is now used to identify and recognise centers of excellence in policy research, forge knowledge and policy partnerships and create a global think tank village," James G. McGann, International Studies Director, TTCSP, wrote in the Report. The TTCSP examines the evolving role and character of public policy research organisations.

The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy was inaugurated on January 31, 2013 by the then President of India, the late Pranab Mukherjee. Since its inception, The Hindu Centre has supported more than 30 scholars to prepare Policy Reports on issues relating to India's politics and public policies.
