NSSO Survey: Education in India

The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, conducted a survey on social consumption relating to education, which was part of its 71st round held between January and June, 2014. Such surveys that have been conducted periodically before form the primary sources of data on the various indicators on education, including literacy rates, attendance ratios, incentives received by the students, and expenditure incurred for education. The latest round of survey does not cover Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Lakshadweep.
