1904. Update on HMPV - ICMR Detects Two Cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) in Karnataka through routine surveillance - Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

There have been media reports of some Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases detected in Karnataka. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has detected two cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) in Karnataka. Both cases were identified through routine surveillance for multiple respiratory viral pathogens, as part of ICMR’s ongoing efforts to monitor respiratory illnesses across the country. 11.35 a.m. IST.
