MoSPI Report: Disabled Persons in India: A Statistical Profile - 2016

In the 2011 Census, the proportion of people living with disabilities was put at 2.21 per cent of the population. To throw light on their status, the Social Statistics Division of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India, has come out with this statistical publication, 'Disabled Persons in India - A Statistical Profie 2016', which attempts to gauge the situation at the national level and in the States and Union Territories. The publication also highlights India's international commitments to improve disability statistics.
