The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started on 16 January 2021. 126.53 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. India's Active caseload currently stands at 99,974. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.29%; Lowest since March 2020. 1402. FAQs on SARS-CoV-2 Variant-Omicron - Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

What is Omicron and what makes it a variant of concern (VoC)?

It is a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 that has recently been reported from South Africa on 24th November 2021 called as B.1.1.529 or Omicron (based on Greek alphabets like alpha, beta, delta etc). 1401. More than 138 Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs - Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccinemanufacturers in the country to States and UTs. 9.10 a.m. IST. The 'Har Ghar Dastak' nation-wide COVID-19 vaccination campaign has resulted in a hike of 5.9% in the 1st dose coverage (till 30th Nov), and an appreciable jump of  11.7% in 2nd dose COVID-19 vaccination coverage during the campaign. This was stated by Shri Rajesh Bhushan, Union Health Secretary as he reviewed the status and progress under "Har GharDastak" campaign with Health Secretaries and NHM MDs of States and UTs, through video conference (VC), today. 1.52 p.m. IST. The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started on 16 January 2021. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21 June 2021.
