Annual Health Survey Report - Part 1

The Annual Health Survey is conducted across nine states of India to monitor the government's various health interventions, including those under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), at relatively more frequent intervals. The AHS, which began with a baseline study in 2010-11 and had two rounds of updations in 2011-12 and 2012-13, is conducted in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The AHS states account for about 50 per cent of the total population of India, 61 per cent of births, 71 per cent of infant deaths, 72 per cent of under-5 deaths and 62 per cent of maternal deaths. This report on the core and vital health indicators was brought out by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, Union Home Ministry.
