O. Grace Ngullie’s research will examine aspects of social welfare governance, nature and extent of transformational politics and possibilities for a transformative implementation of public policies towards making an inclusive and sustainable impact on human and social capital as also social integration.
Grace completed her Ph.D. and M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, under the supervision of Professor Niraja Gopal Jayal at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance. Her Ph.D. thesis inquired into the comparative effectiveness of the Public Distribution System and the Dilli Annashree Yojana (a Cash Transfer scheme in Delhi), evalutating especially their respective impact on food and nutritional security, education, healthcare, sanitation practices beside women’s empowerment and gender equation at the household level. In her M.Phil dissertation work, she looked into the issue of women’s socio-economic empowerment through the implementation of Transformative Livelihood Intervention, a Self Help Group project in Nagaland.
She has worked with the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi, as a Research Officer and had assisted a project funded by ICSSR. She has previously worked with the National Institute of Information Technology and had taught Indian Polity and Public Administration in an Academy in Nagaland.
