Maanvender Singh’s research explores the evolution of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and their consolidation in the political realm in general and electoral democracy in particular. His research also covers constitutional and judicial history of backward classes. Maanvender has done graduation in Biotechnology and M.A in Mass Communication. Currently he is a Phd Scholar in the Department of History at the Sikkim University, Gangtok. As a Public Policy Scholar, Maanvender will attempt to analyse the current scheme of reservation in the state of Tamil Nadu with special focus on OBCs

Maanvender Singh’s research explores the evolution of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and their consolidation in the political realm in general and electoral democracy in particular. His research also covers constitutional and judicial history of backward classes. Maanvender has done graduation in Biotechnology and M.A in Mass Communication. Currently he is a Phd Scholar in the Department of History at the Sikkim University, Gangtok.

Maanvender’s research interest covers the areas of socio-political movement, caste, and politics in India. He has written and contributed several articles to Counter Current and The Hoot on various issues. His recent article that deals with the issue of reservation is slated to appear soon in The Economic and Political Weekly.

Research : As a Public Policy Scholar, Maanvender will attempt to analyse the current scheme of reservation in the state of Tamil Nadu with special focus on OBCs.
